Personalised Children’s Book · coming soon

A birthday book starring your child

A personalised birthday book makes the child the hero of their own big day: their name on the cover, their new age in the title, and a story about the adventure of growing one year older.

Unlike a card, it gets read again and again, and the age-band rules mean the text is pitched right whether they are turning two or eight.

Their age, everywhere

The age they are turning appears in the title, the plot and the final page.

Pitched for the age

Board book, picture book or early reader: length and vocabulary follow their age band.

Party guests welcome

Name friends, siblings, grandparents or the family pet to appear in the story.

How it works

Step by step

  1. 1

    About the child

First name, age and pronouns. The age sets the age band: board book, picture book or early reader.

  2. 2

    Design their avatar

Choose skin tone, hair style and colour, eye colour, glasses and freckles. No photo upload needed.

  3. 3

    Pick a theme

Birthday, Christmas, new sibling, first day at school, bedtime or a hero adventure.

  4. 4

    See the preview

About a minute later: their character portrait and a cover with their name.

  5. 5

    Make the book

Every page illustrated (12 spreads for a picture book), editable text and a dedication, then download.

  • The child drawn consistently on every page, from the avatar you design
  • Two covers to choose from, with their name typeset
  • Screen PDF and print-ready PDF, sized for the age band (7×7, 8.5×8.5 or 6×9 in)
  • Optional: a colouring book of the same story, with every scene as a line-art page

Previews are free for signed-in users during the 7-day Pro trial. Making the full book uses a Pro book credit (Pro includes one a month), and downloading or printing needs a paid plan.

Questions

Frequently asked

What ages is the birthday book for?

From first birthdays (a short board book) to about eight (an early reader). The age you enter sets the age band and the text follows it.

Do I need to upload a photo of my child?

No. Your child is drawn as an avatar you design (skin tone, hair, eyes, glasses, freckles). Child photos are not used in the first version.

Do you need photos of my child?

No. The first version uses an avatar you design. If photo likeness is added later it will be opt-in, with parental consent and automatic deletion of source photos.

How is this different from “Write a children’s book”?

This template is done for you: a finished gift book in minutes. “Write a children’s book” is for authors writing their own picture book to publish, with age-band rules and illustration tools.
