## Features
### Codex
A structured story bible: characters, locations, items, lore, events and world rules. Entries are embedded for retrieval, so the AI pulls the relevant ones into every prompt automatically. Characters can carry progressions (how they change chapter by chapter), relationships and reveal points.

### Book Memory and Knowledge Bank
Book Memory keeps a long-term, searchable memory of what has happened in the manuscript and in past chat sessions, compacted as it grows. The Knowledge Bank is a personal library of research documents that can be attached to any project; the AI retrieves from it with hybrid vector and keyword search and cites what it used.

### Style profiles
Writers paste or upload samples of their own prose; Penwrite builds a style profile (rhythm, vocabulary, dialogue habits, point of view) that drafting and rewriting follow.

### Drafting
Ghost-text autocomplete in the editor (Tab to accept), next-beat suggestions, a chat assistant with separate plan and write modes, and five writing agents: Writing Coach, Plot Architect, Character Developer, Editor and Research Assistant.

### Structure
A snowflake-method outline wizard, chapters and scenes, a beat board and corkboard view, book → chapter → scene word budgets, and series: “write the next book” starts a sequel or same-world book that carries over the chosen characters (with where they ended up) and world entries.

### Revision
A consistency checker (misspelled or recased names, characters who reappear after leaving the story, POV drift, mixed spellings), AI grammar check by selection, chapter or book, a humanizer that rewrites away common AI-text patterns and toward the writer’s style, and automatic version history with restore.

### Translation
Translate a selection, chapter or whole book into Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic or Hindi, or a custom language.

### Children’s and baby books
Choose an age band (board book, picture book, early reader, chapter book, middle grade) and the AI follows per-band word counts, sentence length, vocabulary level and rhyme handling, with the recommended KDP trim size.

### Image Studio
Generates book covers sized to KDP trims, character portraits with a reference lock for consistency across images, picture-book spreads that reuse locked character references, and parchment-style maps from the Codex locations. A project art style keeps every image cohesive.
